Santino to open up Gym in Canada — ‘Battle Arts Academy’

Santino Marella (Real name Anthony Carelli) is working on an amazing project that he has been hooked on for years now, and his dream is finally coming true. The superstar is opening his own Gym/MMA/Fitness and Pro Wrestling facility in the coming months. The facility, otherwise known as ‘Battle Arts Academy‘ will be ‘ a brand new 15,000 sq ft, MMA/Strength & Conditioning and Pro Wrestling facility. This state of the art venue is owned and operated by WWE Superstar Santino Marella, International Filmmaker Steven J Wong and media mogul Terry Frendo‘.

From known knowledge at this point, the facility is scheduled to open July 2013 in Mississauga, Ontario.

Barrett mule-kicks Santino and he complains that he can’t breathe. Barrett gets 2. Santino mounts a comeback and does a split to avoid the Bull Hammer and proceeds with a flurry and gets 2. Santino pulls out the Cobra but Barrett kicks it and hits the Bull Hammer to Santino for the quick win.

Drew with a flying boot to Ryder and then he stomps on the hand. Slater tags in and he kicks Ryder. Drew tags back in and he applies an arm bar. Ryder avoids a suplex and hits a neck breaker and both men are down.

Santino and Slater tag in and Santino with jabs and a forearm. Santino with a split and hip toss followed by a diving head butt but Mahal breaks up the cover.

Truth clotheslines Mahal over the top rope and both go to the floor. Santino gets the cobra out but Drew grabs the hand. Santino still hits Slater and gets the three count.

WINNERS: Santino, Zack, and R-Truth

It will be a busy evening for WWE as they host a Make-A-Wish pizza party at the Liberty Science Center. More than 40 Wish kids and their families will meet with John Cena, R-Truth and Santino Marella.

WWE Helps grant wishes to children all over the U.S merely every week. This one is special because of tomorrow’s big ‘WRESTLEMANIA Event.

Santino thinks of how to start things off and Mark wants to know if Santino is serious. Santino with kicks and Henry does not move. Henry grabs Santino and Santino grabs the cobra. Henry with a shoulder tackle and then he picks up Santino and hits the World’s Strongest Slam and gets the three count.

Winner: Mark Henry

After the match, Ryback makes his way to the ring.

Mark tells Ryback that he is mad that he didn’t break his bench press record, but that does not give Ryback the right to so call threaten him. Mark reminds Ryback about the No Contact Clause going into Wrestlemania. Mark says that nobody wants to get their hands on Ryback like he wants to. Mark says that he knows that Ryback wants to get his hands on him. There is only one thing that is going to happen tonight and that is smile.

Mark smiles and he leaves the ring but Ryback picks up Santino and uses Santino to knock Mark out of the ring. Ryback tosses Santino onto Henry.

Santino travels to Italy to Promote the WWE

WWE has officially sent Santino overseas to Italy to do some promoting for WWE and it’s programming, along with promoting the Italian BE A STAR*© program that helps stop bullying. Santino noted that while overseas, he witnessed the new Pope being sworn in, meeting some students, and exploring Italy. He was quoted in a Tweet saying: “Vieni a conoscere me domani a “Casa Mia” located at Via Appia Nuova 146 in Rome! 4pm. Non vedo l’ora !” Which translates in English to “Come and meet me tomorrow at “My House” located at Via Appia Nuova 146 in Rome! 4pm. I can not wait!”

Also while in Italy, Santino was in Rome to meet with some local students, and he even got the chance to hear the bells that rang in the new Pope Francis. Overall, it sounded like a fun trip, and he must be excited to return home and compete in the ring, representing Italy everytime he walks to the ring. “What a great day in Roma! met with local students with the Be A Star program, had a signing, and heard the bells ring for the new pope!” Santino has also been medically cleared to compete in the ring this Monday.

Santino is medically cleared to return to the WWE Ring.

Santino Marella has been officially cleared to return to the ring as of March 14th, 2013. He noted via Twitter that he is officially able to return Monday to RAW and other WWE programming. It is noted that 2013 has been rough for Santino and injuries, but don’t count him out, he will be in action, and will hopefully be going to Wrestlemania. The tweet he sent out can be seen below –

20 Coolest Tattoos in WWE History: Santino’s Conan the Barbarian Tattoo

WWE recognized Santino’s Beloved ‘Conan the Barbarian’ tattoo on his chest in the ’20 most coolest WWE Tattoos ever’. Ranking the epic ink at number 16.

Judging by his comedic antics alone, you wouldn’t expect Santino Marella has such deep and serious ink etched across various parts of his skin. But as an in-ring competitor, Marella is certainly fierce, just like his tattoos. Santino’s tats include a dragon on his forearm, a winged figure on his bicep and a giant lion on his back. The one that comes across as the most visually appealing and all-around awesome, though, is the image of Conan the Barbarian perched on the left side of his chest.

“[Conan the Barbarian] was born a peasant in a common village and became king by his own hand,” Santino explained to WWE.com in 2007. “I, too, was born into a simple family and now I’m a WWE Superstar on a journey to become king of my domain.”

Afterhand WWE.com added this interview, Santino has since added more epic ink to his body that can be seen on WWE TV.
